UPCOMING SERMON SERIES
”What’s the Difference?” - Faith Conversations in a Pluralistic Society
Sunday January 4th - Sunday February 22nd
For the next eight weeks, we will be comparing our orthodox protestant Christian Faith alongside other faiths and worldviews.
The goal of this message series is twofold. First, to gain deeper understanding that will lead to deeper connection with God for each of us. We gain clarity through comparison. In our increasingly pluralistic culture, it is more important than ever for every disciple of Jesus to be clear about what we believe, why we believe, it and how it impacts our lives.
The second goal for this series is to equip disciples of Jesus to engage more courageously, intelligently, and lovingly in conversations with people of other faiths and worldviews. There is no avoiding the reality that we no longer live in a Christian nation. Not only that, our Christian faith is under constant attack everywhere we turn. Too often, Christians avoid engaging for fear of being canceled or fear of not knowing what to say. Our hope at Journey is that this series will equip and embolden us to engage in more thoughtful dialogue with people who do not share our Christian, biblical worldview.
Throughout the series, you can use the link below and in our weekly Traveler’s Guide email to submit questions you may have about all that we are exploring. We may not be able to answer every question, but we’ll try to hit on the major themes that emerge. We’ll have a panel Q & A format focused on your questions on week #4 of the series (February 1st ), and again on the final week (February 22nd ). We are also hosting a Journey Group immediately after the worship service each week, combined with our Crossroads students (7th-12th grade), in which we will have more informal dialogue and discussion. You can join us every Sunday, or just a few that particularly pique your curiosity for further dialogue.
